Dropkick Murphys have been delivering unique celtic punk music since 1996. The band first rose to prominence in 2006 after releasing the single, “I’m Shipping Up to Boston.” The song, spawned from their fifth album The Warrior’s Code, topped Billboard’s Bubbling under Hot 100 chart. The follow up album, The Meanest of Times, also spawned the Bubbling under Hot 100 number 1 single, “The State of Massachusetts.” The song also became the band’s first hit to enter the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs. Today, Dropkick Murphys became the authority in the circuit as they became the household name celtic punk. The band has also developed a niche but pretty large following.
This legendary band dropped their debut album How Could Hell Be Any Worse? in 1982. They remained an underground band throughout the 80s, until they found some tracking in Germany in the early 90s. By 1994, Bad Relgion found phenomenal success in the U.S. after releasing their eighth album, Stranger Than Fiction. The title track also became their first entry into Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart. In 2013, the band dropped their highest charting album to date, True North, which entered the top 20 of the Billboard 200.
