Witness Khruangbin at their purest — "Sunshine in music form."
In fifteen years, the band explored their instruments through wide-eyed inspirations drawn from world music. They pierced the veil of dreams on their Thai funk debut, The Universe Smiles Upon You (2015), broke Middle Eastern boundaries on Con Todo el Mundo (2018), and rose higher than ever on the climactic Mordechai (2020). Now, Khruangbin wants you to hear them for who they are. That brings us to their fourth studio LP, a brilliantly conceived "back-to-roots" record that undoubtedly earned them their recent GRAMMY nomination. This last week of spring, dip your ears into a captivating night heavy with hypnotic grooves, riffs, and basslines.
Issued under indie labels Dead Oceans and Night Time Stories, A La Sala (2024) secured a Top 40 spot on the Billboard 200 and showcases the group’s most evocatively stripped-down melodies. Dive deep into its waves, ushered by Triple-A hit single "A Love International," and followed through by equally beguiling tracks such as "May Ninth," "Pon Pón," and "Les Petits Gris." Audiences can also expect Khruangbin classics like "White Gloves," "People Everywhere (Still Alive)," and "Time (You and I)," plus an opening performance from new-age jazz artist John Carroll Kirby. Known for hit singles "Mates" and "Wind," Kirby brings a warm, reflective grace sought after by various icons, including Solange, Frank Ocean, and Norah Jones.
